Have you ever wanted to learn how to make soap from scratch? Wait no longer! In this workshop I will teach you how to make your own plant-based, eco-friendly, cold process soap from scratch.

You can choose which direction you want to take your soap as far as your fragrence and choice of botanicals and colours goes. Would you like invigorating lemongrass and rosemary? Or do you prefer comforting cinnamon? Or are you a fan of calming lavendar? The choice is all yours. I will have an abundance of essentials oils and botanicals available for you to choose from.

You will be making a large 1kg block of your own handmade, plant-based soap, which you can then cut into which ever shape/size you would like and either use it up yourself throughout the year or give it away to friends and family.

I have had my soap recipe officially certified by a chemical lab by sending in a Cosmetic Product Safety Report, so you can rest assured that the soap we are making is safe to use. You will also test the pH level of your soap as part of the course, so you know your soap is nothing less than nurishing for your skin.

The way this workshop is organised, you book a private session with me at a time that suits you. You can either just book for yourself (80 GBP), for you and a friend (62.50 GBP each) or for you and two friends (50 GBP). We will only be making one 1kg block of soap, regardless of how many of you there are, but you can then divide it up into two or three equal portions. Once you have booked your session, I will contact you to arrange a suitable time for your workshop.

P.S. Two things to note:

1) We will be working with lye (or sodium hydroxide), which is caustic. During our workshop, I will be doing this part of the soap-making process on your behalf, just to be on the safe side.

2) Once poured into the mould, the soap will need 24 hours to cure. This means you won’t be able to cut your soap until the following day. We can either arrange for you to come back to the workshop when it suits you or, if you prefer, I can have the soap delivered to you by post or drop it off at your house (both for an small additional fee). If you’re coming from further afield, we can also pour the soap into a plastic container that you can take home with you.

Fee includes all materials and ingredients. And of course your very own handmade 1kg block of soap.
